Privacy Policy
This page explains what happens to the details you share when you book a free trial class with Kara Piano Lessons — what we collect, why, where it is kept, and how to have it removed. We have tried to write it in plain English.
Who we are
Kara Piano Lessons is a one-to-one online piano teaching practice run by Gautam Krishna, based in India. When this policy says “we” or “us”, it means Kara Piano Lessons. Gautam is the person responsible for your data and the person to contact about it.
What we collect
When you fill in the Book a Free Trial form, we collect:
- the student’s name and age range
- the parent or guardian’s name, if the student is under 18
- an email address
- a WhatsApp number and country
- your time zone
Alongside the form, we also record a few technical details: the date and time you submitted it, the page you came from, the type of browser you used, and the country your connection appears to come from. We do not store your IP address.
We do not ask for, and do not want, payment details, identity documents, or anything else sensitive through this form.
Why we collect it
Only to respond to your request: to contact you, arrange a trial class at a time that works in your time zone, and follow up about lessons. The technical details help us understand how people find the site and keep the booking form working.
We will not add you to a mailing list or send marketing messages unless you ask us to. We never sell your details, and we never share them with anyone for advertising.
Children
We teach students from four years old. If the student is under 18, the form must be filled in by a parent or guardian, and it asks for their name. We communicate with the parent or guardian about arranging lessons, not with the child directly.
If you believe a child has submitted their details without a parent or guardian, contact us and we will delete them.
Where your details are kept
We use a small number of trusted services to run the site and handle bookings. Each one only receives what it needs to do its job:
| Service | What it does for us |
|---|---|
| Cloudflare | Hosts this website, stores booking requests in its database, and runs the spam check on the form |
| Supabase | Keeps a backup copy of booking requests |
| Google Sheets holds our working list of enquiries; Gmail receives booking notifications | |
| Resend | Delivers the notification email that tells us a new booking has arrived |
| WhatsApp (Meta) | Used when you message us, or we message you, to arrange lessons |
Some of these services store data on servers outside India. They are established providers with their own security and privacy commitments.
Spam protection
To stop automated spam, the booking form uses Cloudflare Turnstile. It checks signals from your browser to tell people from bots, usually without asking you to do anything. Cloudflare processes this information under its own privacy policy and does not use it for advertising.
Cookies and third-party requests
This site does not set advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not currently run analytics.
To display the site, your browser loads fonts from Google Fonts and a small scrolling library from jsDelivr. Like any website you visit, those services see your IP address when your browser requests the files.
How long we keep it
If you enquire but don’t go on to take lessons, we delete your details within 24 months of your enquiry. If you become a student, we keep your contact details for as long as you take lessons with us, and delete them within 24 months after lessons end.
You can ask us to delete them sooner at any time.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what details we hold about you or your child
- correct anything that is wrong
- delete your details
- stop contacting you
We will respond within 30 days. There is no charge.
